When considering which area to live in Tenerife, most people start thinking about the obvious choices of Las Americas, Los Cristianos, Costa Del Silencio, Adeje or Golf Del Sur. Las Chafiras, does not tend to spring to mind.
One reason for that may be because Las Chafiras has long been considered an industrial area, full of large supermarkets and retail warehouses. That is of course true. There is nowhere in the South of Tenerife that is better served by home stores, Chinese warehouses, hardware or discount clothes and shoe outlets.
But the name Las Chafiras is not limited to just that network of roads that extends down from the seaward side of the TF1 motorway to the end of the industrial buildings. In fact Las Chafiras extends down all almost all the way to the border of Golf del Sur and upwards from the TF1 into the pleasant residential area of LLano de Camello.
As one of Tenerife’s newest residential areas, the properties that are available in Las Chafiras are without exception new and in good repair. They tend to be larger in size with either a good size terrace or a garden area. Of course, this depends on which property you are viewing.
There is a strong ethnic mix here and the area is served by both Spanish and English speaking schools. The popular Wingate school at Cabo Blanco is a short drive away, and there are many students living in the Llano de Camello area.
The Reina Sofia airport is a few minutes away, and Los Cristianos about 10 minutes by car. The area is well served by buses.
Rental property here is good value for money.
